A pharmacist from Atlanta, GA originally compounded TUF-FOOT in 1935. In the early years it was used successfully for toughening the pads of hunting dogs. Along the way, horse owners and farriers began using it to heal hoof problems such as Thrush and to toughen soft frogs. Over last 20 years, athletes, dancers, and those who with prosthetic devices have used TUF-FOOT to protect against blisters and other skin irritations. While TUF-FOOT’S usage has increased, the TUF-FOOT formula has remained the same.
The ingredients in TUF-FOOT include: Isopropyl Alcohol, Tincture of Benzoin, Balsam Peru and less than 5% Acetone. These ingredients can be researched on the web.
Currently, TUF-FOOT is manufactured by the Bonaseptic Company, a family company with many dedicated users, retailers, and distributors.
